Methods of Analysis Program in the Social Sciences
The Methods of Analysis Program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS) enhanced the quality and vitality of empirical social scientific research conducted by Stanford students and faculty by serving as a central resource for techniques and training in data collection and analysis, conferring graduate certificates in advanced methods training.
Initially serving graduate students and faculty, MAPSS expanded its offerings with support from the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education to train undergraduates in conducting field research. The VPUE sponsored courses within MAPSS on research design and data collection and analysis, thereby increasing undergraduates' ability to conduct meaningful research projects.
