Promotional Networks in Chinese Bureaucracy

​Presentation Abstract

Angela's current research seeks to understand networks inside bureaucracy from various perspectives. First, how does the bureaucratic network evolve over time, and how do people of different ranks and status connect to each other? Second, how do network positions relate to one's career mobility and promotion inside a bureaucracy? This project will tackle these questions using multiple methods and perspectives in order to understand a problem that is less explored in the existing literature.
