Zac Smith-Russack

IRiSS Predoctoral Fellow
2025–26

Zac Smith-Russack is an incoming Predoctoral Fellow at the Stanford Social Media Lab. He is a lifelong Bay Area native who got his undergraduate and master's degrees in Public Health from UC Berkeley. His research has most recently focused on social media and screen time use among adolescents, working with the Nagata Lab at UCSF. He has also worked in infectious disease modeling, solid-tumor cancer T-cell research, and drug harm reduction research. Outside of academics, he is an avid hiker, soccer player, board game enthusiast, SF sports fan, and enjoyer of the TV show Survivor.
