Shane Muldowney is a Predoctoral Fellow at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society and is a Research Coordinator at the Polarization and Social Change Lab. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from UCLA, graduating summa cum laude in 2023. His research interests center on the psychological dynamics that underlie and exacerbate political polarization, cross-partisan animus, and ideological conflict in the United States. In particular, his research has focused on designing and testing interventions aimed at reducing partisan animosity and facilitating more productive communication across ideological divides.
