Sarah Wu is a Predoctoral Fellow in the Stanford Social Media Lab (Communication Department). She earned her BA in Psychology and Music minor from Reed College, where she wrote her senior thesis on the perceived narrative capabilities of AI music composers. In the Social Media Lab, Sarah will combine her research interests in AI and discourse processing by conducting research on AI-mediated communication‚ a type of interpersonal communication in which an AI system enhances or generates messages on behalf of a human. Sarah is broadly interested in the relative influences of 1) beliefs about AI systems and 2) their linguistic markers on users' perceptions and behavioral outcomes.
