Monique Lyle

Survey Center Research Scientist and Public Pulse Project Director

Dr. Monique L. Lyle is a political scientist with expertise in the areas of public opinion, political psychology, and race in American politics and extensive experience designing, programming, and analyzing public opinion surveys and survey experiments. Her research examines the influence of political elites on attitudes about marginalized groups as well as American public opinion about democratic institutions, processes, and policies. She is the former director of the Survey Research Laboratory and the Institute for Public Service and Policy Research at the University of South Carolina and currently serves as a Survey Research Scientist and Director of the Public Pulse Project at the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences at Stanford University.
