John O’Farrell

John O’Farrell is a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. His investments include public companies Slack (NYSE:WORK), where he serves as lead board director, and PagerDuty (NYSE:PD). John is also a board member of a number of private technology companies. In the non-profit sector, John serves on the boards of UNICEF USA and of Karam Foundation, which brings education, opportunity, and hope to displaced Syrians in Turkey, Jordan, and the US. Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz in 2010, John held Executive Vice President positions at three Silicon Valley technology companies, namely Silver Spring Networks, Opsware and Excite@Home. Earlier in his career, he worked in the United States and Europe with MediaOne Group/US WEST, Booz Allen, Eircom (Ireland), the EU Commission, Digital Equipment and Siemens.

 John has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin. Born in Ireland and married to a Brazilian, John speaks English, German, French and Portuguese. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

John and his wife Gloria Principe are active supporters of a wide number of humanitarian organizations, both locally and internationally.
