Langer-Osuna will analyze videos of elementary school students from diverse linguistic backgrounds engaged in collaborative problem-solving in small groups. She will partner with classroom teachers to examine how students negotiate mathematical ideas and positions of power across languages and to develop strategies that support equitable and robust mathematical work.
