Perceptions of Sexual Harassment in a Post-#MeToo World
2018–19 Survey Lab Project

As the #MeToo Movement unfolded, evidence suggested that Americans shifted their views of women who report sexual harassment. Where Americans previously viewed such women as less worthy of promotion, this bias faded over the early months of the #MeToo Movement. This project seeks to explore how the dust has settled more than a year after #MeToo first began trending on Twitter, by exploring the following questions: Are peoples’ views of a sexual harassment target shaped by the target’s gender or race? And do people view a man who has been harassed differently from a woman who has been harassed?
