Black Lives Matter in Italy: A Conversation with Camilla Hawthorne, Torin Jones, and Angelica Pesarini

Black Lives Matter (BLM) formed in 2013 as a decentralized social movement confronting anti-Black violence in the United States. In unforeseen ways, BLM has gained new momentum and forms while moving far beyond U.S. borders. In this live webinar, Torin Jones (Stanford) will speak with Camilla Hawthorne (UC Santa Cruz) and Angelica Pesarini (NYU Florence) about the Black Lives Matter movement in Italy, focusing on he Italian histories, geographies, and social and cultural processes that contour unique forms of blackness and BLM.
